CLIMB FASTER, DESCEND MORE CONFIDENTLY AND RIDE WITH LESS FATIGUE.
This is achieved in conjunction with a trained BodyGeometry® specialist who has a complete understanding of your unique biomechanics and experience.
BodyGeometry® is the most complete system to help you become one with your bike. To understand you and how you ride, a BodyGeometry® specialist will ask about your goals and measure your physical capabilities and strengths. Next, he or she will adjust the bike to you and recommend solutions to improve comfort and enjoyment.
Novice riders will benefit from increased comfort and ease, while serious athletes will gain more power and efficiency. BodyGeometry® FIT has consistently improved performance to some degree for every rider studied, boosting performance an average of five percent.
The BodyGeometry® FIT method was developed in a joint venture between Dr. Andy Pruitt, Director of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, and Specialized, with the goal of improving the riding experience for any level of cyclist. Over 500 BodyGeometry® specialists are trained each year through intensive Specialized Bicycle Component University courses at our offices worldwide. This process is scientifically proven to improve knee tracking, reduce injury, and increase power, and is the same method that is used with top professional riders in all cycling disciplines.
BodyGeometry® FIT is a 2.5-hour process starting with a rider profile interview, followed by a 20-step physical assessment and 15-step on-the-bike equipment adjustment. Afterward, your BodyGeometry specialist will provide you with thorough documentation and schedule a follow up session to ensure continued satisfaction with your position.
the 5 main partS of the bodygeometry® fit process
- RIDER PROFILE INTERVIEW -
Every fit starts with an interview between a trained fit specialist and rider to understand a rider’s injury history, needs, and goals.
- PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT -
This is the key to the BodyGeometry® FIT process, allowing a fit specialist to develop an accurate picture of a rider’s flexibility and other physical attributes, so they’ll be able to make the proper adjustments to help you be one with your bike.
- SIDE VIEW -
Assessed from the side, the goal is to determine the rider’s unique active riding position that’s both powerful and comfortable by adjusting the seat height, handlebar position, stem length, and cleat placement.
- FRONT VIEW -
Unique to the BodyGeometry® FIT process, this frontal view analysis will optimize hip, knee, and foot alignment for greater performance and balanced power delivery.
- FOLLOW UP -
After a week or so, the fit specialist will contact you to ensure the adjustments were effective and answer any other questions or concerns you may have.
